For most people, a lack of clear objectives is their biggest source of stress at work.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Indeed, 42% of workers in technology ranked \u201cunclear goals\u201d as their main stressor, according to the latest reading of an ongoing <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.comparably.com\/guest\/culture\/tech\/all-departments\/59-whats-your-biggest-stressor-at-work\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">query<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.comparably.com\/\">Comparably<\/a>. \u201cBad manager\u201d and \u201ccommute\u201d were next (each trailing behind with 16% of the vote), followed by \u201cdifficult coworker\u201d (14%) and \u201ctoo long hours\u201d (12%). <\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.comparably.com\/guest\/culture\/tech\/all-departments\/59-whats-your-biggest-stressor-at-work\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-478 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.comparably.com\/00000000\/b\/2017\/05\/uncleargoalsa.png\" alt=\"uncleargoalsa\" width=\"953\" height=\"378\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cdn.comparably.com\/00000000\/b\/2017\/05\/uncleargoalsa-300x119.png 300w, https:\/\/cdn.comparably.com\/00000000\/b\/2017\/05\/uncleargoalsa-768x305.png 768w, https:\/\/cdn.comparably.com\/00000000\/b\/2017\/05\/uncleargoalsa.png 953w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 709px) 85vw, (max-width: 909px) 67vw, (max-width: 1362px) 62vw, 840px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cUnclear goals\u201d was the most popular response across every department &#8212; from admin to engineering to marketing to legal &#8212; as well as every age group 18 to 60.
