With work-life balance a\u00a0top priority<\/a>\u00a0for workers, unlimited paid time off (PTO) is becoming a more popular option for workers in tech.<\/p>\n

About 21% of workers\u00a0in tech say they now have unlimited paid vacation and sick days, according to the latest reading of an ongoing query<\/a> by Comparably<\/a>. That’s significantly higher than workers outside of tech<\/a>, 9% of whom say they have unlimited PTO.<\/p>\n

20 to 30 days is still the most common arrangement<\/b><\/p>\n

While unlimited PTO\u00a0was\u00a0nearly unheard of just a decade ago, it now appears to be *almost* as popular as the three\u00a0weeks commonly offered by employers in the tech space. (Remember that in the U.S. there is no federal mandate that people be paid for time not worked; it’s up to the employer.)<\/p>\n

Indeed, when tech workers\u00a0were asked how much paid vacation and sick days they could take a year,\u00a0the most common responses were “15 to 20 days” (24%) and “20 to 30 days” (28%). “Unlimited” was the third most popular response (21%), followed by “10 to 15 days” (17%) and “0 to 10 days” (10%).<\/p>\n
