{"id":1488,"date":"2017-08-30T14:00:57","date_gmt":"2017-08-30T14:00:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.comparably.com\/blog\/?p=1488"},"modified":"2017-08-29T22:43:49","modified_gmt":"2017-08-29T22:43:49","slug":"lgbtq-work","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.comparably.com\/blog\/lgbtq-work\/","title":{"rendered":"Nearly 90% of Tech Workers Say Their Employers Support LGBTQ Employees"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Apple, Google, and Twitter are just some of the major tech companies known for offering benefits that support gay and transgender employees, but they&#8217;re hardly the only ones.<\/p>\n<p>At a time when diversity is a subject of heated national debate, nearly 90% of all tech workers say their companies are supportive of LGBTQ employees, according to the latest reading of an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.comparably.com\/guest\/culture\/tech\/all-departments\/137-is-your-company-supportive-of-lgbtq-employees\">ongoing query<\/a> by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.comparably.com\">Comparably<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><b>Young workers feel this way most<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The youngest group of workers seem to\u00a0have the most faith in their company&#8217;s support of LGBTQ workers (92%), though workers at the older end of the spectrum remain resolute in this belief as well (86%).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.comparably.com\/guest\/culture\/tech\/all-departments\/137-is-your-company-supportive-of-lgbtq-employees\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1493\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1493\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.comparably.com\/00000000\/b\/2017\/08\/age-1.jpg\" alt=\"age\" width=\"578\" height=\"160\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cdn.comparably.com\/00000000\/b\/2017\/08\/age-1-300x83.jpg 300w, https:\/\/cdn.comparably.com\/00000000\/b\/2017\/08\/age-1.jpg 578w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 578px) 85vw, 578px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b>The most LGBTQ-friendly cities<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The cities where employees were most likely to say that their employers are gay and transgender-friendly are Portland, Seattle, Phoenix, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston, Chicago, and D.C.
