About a third of people say their boss has a negative impact on company culture, according to the latest reading of an ongoing query<\/a> by Comparably<\/a>. The results come from more than 1,000 employees across the technology industry.<\/p>\n

Overall, women were more likely than men to say their bosses hurt company culture (36% women vs. 31% men).<\/p>\n

Women in communications, legal, operations and finance were most likely to say that their boss hurts company culture, while women in IT, customer support, and product were least likely to say the same. Men in business development, communication, and operations were most likely to say their boss hurts company culture while men in HR, legal, and engineering were least likely.<\/p>\n

Overall, workers in business development and operations were most likely to say their bosses hurt company culture. Workers in HR and engineering were least likely.<\/p>\n

The youngest workers (aged 18 to 25) had the most positive view: 27% said their boss was bad for culture. From there, the percentage rose, peaking at 38% among workers aged 56 to 60. (Note: Data for ages 61 and up was eliminated due to small sample size.)<\/em><\/b><\/p>\n
