It’s still a taboo topic for many, but 26%\u00a0of men and 29% of women admit they have dated a coworker.<\/p>\n

That’s according to the latest reading of an\u00a0ongoing query by Comparably of more than 10,000 workers across the technology industry. The latest reading is as of Sept. 20.<\/p>\n

By age<\/b><\/p>\n

Thirty-two percent of workers aged 56 to 60 admitted to having dated a coworker while they worked at the same company. That was the\u00a0highest rate\u00a0among any age group.<\/p>\n

The lowest rate was among workers 18 to 25, 23% of whom admitted to having dated a coworker. (Note: Data for age 61+ was excluded due to small sample size.)<\/p>\n

By industry<\/b><\/p>\n

Thirty-three percent of employees who work in\u00a0operations\u00a0selected \u201cyes\u201d when asked if they had ever dated a coworker they were working with at the time. Only 23% of employees in\u00a0engineering\u00a0said the same.<\/p>\n

Women in<\/b>\u00a0operations\u00a0<\/b>and\u00a0men in legal<\/b>\u00a0were most likely to report having dated a coworker (36% for both).\u00a0Women in legal<\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0men<\/b>\u00a0in engineering<\/b>\u00a0in were least likely to report the same (19% and 22%, respectively).<\/p>\n
