Paid maternity and paternity leave aren’t federally mandated in the U.S., leaving companies to take it upon themselves to offer it. And led by corporate giants such as Amazon<\/a>,\u00a0Facebook<\/a>, and\u00a0Google<\/a>, tech companies of all sizes are leading the charge.<\/p>\n

Nearly 66%\u00a0of workers in tech say their employers offer paid parental leave, according to the latest reading of an ongoing query<\/a> by Comparably<\/a>. That’s more than outside of tech, where 53% of workers say their employers offer paid parental leave.<\/p>\n

A closer look at tech<\/b><\/p>\n

Looking at tech specifically, workers in communications, engineering, IT, operations, and HR reported the highest rates of working at companies that offer paid parental leave.<\/p>\n

Workers in legal roles reported the lowest rates.<\/p>\n

City by city<\/b><\/p>\n

At 81%, workers in Seattle reported the highest\u00a0rates of working at companies that offer paid parental leave. San Francisco (79%) and Boston (75%) were close behind.<\/p>\n

Minneapolis checked in as the city with the lowest concentration of workers who reported working for companies that offer paid parental leave.<\/p>\n
