For nearly 40% of people, feeling underpaid or unappreciated would be it, according to the latest reading of an ongoing query<\/a> by Comparably<\/a>.\u00a0The query garnered\u00a0nearly 33,000 responses from employees across the tech world.<\/p>\n

The value of feeling appreciated<\/b><\/p>\n

Feeling underpaid or unappreciated was the No. 1 reason people say they would hypothetically quit their jobs tomorrow,\u00a0followed next by a lack of career advancement. Negative work environment and company instability were the next reasons, followed last by difficult coworkers.<\/p>\n

Men vs. women<\/b><\/p>\n

Men and women ranked each option in the same order, though men cited lack of career advancement more frequently than women.<\/p>\n

The one exception<\/b><\/p>\n

Workers in all departments — from engineering to legal to business development — ranked “underpaid or unappreciated” as the No. 1 answer, except for one: people who work in product chose “lack of career advancement” as the main reason they would quit.<\/p>\n
