When asked to pick the skill they see as most important in a job candidate, most people said either “integrity” or “work ethic,” according to the latest reading of an ongoing query<\/a> by Comparably.com<\/a> of more than 500\u00a0workers across the tech sector.<\/p>\n

Thirty-two percent of people chose integrity while 27% chose work ethic. The qualities that followed were “good culture fit” (21%), “resourcefulness” (12%) and — perhaps surprisingly — “prior experience” (8%).<\/p>\n

Prior experience was least valued by workers in sales (7%):<\/p>\n

Men and women differed slightly in their preferences overall, with men choosing “integrity” as the most important quality and women choosing work ethic (31%).<\/p>\n
