The final data set was compiled from millions of ratings across 70,000 companies large and small.

Rankings were determined based on feedback to a series of questions in 16 core culture metrics, including compensation (salary, bonus, raises), career growth (opportunities, mentorship, goals), leadership (CEO, executives, direct managers), and work environment (work-life balance, perks & benefits, coworkers) in yes/no, true/false, 1-10 scale, and multiple-choice format. The answer to each question was given a numerical score and then compared to companies of similar size.

To qualify, Large companies (more than 500 employees) must have met a minimum of 40 employee participants and Small/Mid-Size companies (500 or fewer employees) must have met a minimum of 15 employee participants. Additional weight was given to companies with more participation from their employee base, relative to their company size, for statistical significance.

There were no fees or costs associated with participating, nor was nomination required.

About Comparably

Comparably (now a ZoomInfo company) is a leading workplace culture and corporate brand reputation platform with over 15 million anonymous employee ratings on 70,000 companies.
