Program highlights include bi-weekly \u201cWisdom Wednesdays\u201d Lunch &amp; Learns, virtual skills-training sessions such as a Resume-Building Workshop, and ongoing engagement activities and contests like \u201cA Day in the Life of a BFS Intern.\u201d Interns also participate in Final Presentations to showcase their summer projects and overall experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The program is led by BFS\u2019s Early Careers Recruiting Specialist, who manages the internship during the summer and oversees recruiting efforts in the fall. The program runs from the beginning of June through mid-August, and interns join Software Engineering, Data Science, Data Engineering, and Data\/Business Analyst teams, with team leaders identifying their specific hiring needs each year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Interns are onboarded together as a cohort and are placed with their functional teams based on a leadership-driven allocation process. From day one, every intern is paired with a buddy or mentor, so they have a go-to resource beyond their manager. Alongside their day-to-day team work, interns take part in cohort learning sessions led by presenters from across the business covering software engineering and data science essentials, plus dedicated soft-skills training. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The program is backed by a cross-functional support system spanning Talent Acquisition, Employee Experience, and Human Resources Business Partners aligned to our technology leaders. That support translates into real, ongoing investment: structured onboarding, team lunches, networking events with our Aspire graduates, and continued connection through Microsoft Teams and regular formal check-ins throughout the summer. That pipeline is a deliberate investment in one of our four strategic pillars: Invest in People &amp; Culture, while the caliber of work interns take on also supports another pillar: Accelerate Growth &amp; Innovation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What sets the experience apart is that interns are given real work on real systems, not manufactured &#8220;intern projects.&#8221; Our technology teams intentionally hand interns problems that affect actual customers, and the results speak to how well that resonates: 100% of interns and Aspire grads say the experience makes them likely to recommend a career at LexisNexis to others. Aspire graduates see a 90% retention rate 12 months post-graduation, with 84% promoted to their next career track at graduation.
