The other reasons had little to do with compensation: the second-most popular reason was &#8220;lack of career advancement&#8221; (32%), &#8220;negative work environment&#8221; (12%), &#8220;company instability&#8221; (12%), and difficult coworkers (6%).<\/p>\n<p>More than 10,000 people across the technology industry responded to the query.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3561 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.comparably.com\/00000000\/b\/2018\/03\/long.jpg\" alt=\"long\" width=\"702\" height=\"190\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cdn.comparably.com\/00000000\/b\/2018\/03\/long-300x81.jpg 300w, https:\/\/cdn.comparably.com\/00000000\/b\/2018\/03\/long.jpg 702w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 709px) 85vw, (max-width: 909px) 67vw, (max-width: 984px) 61vw, (max-width: 1362px) 45vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><b>The only department who felt differently\u00a0was product<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Of all of the tech workers surveyed, those who worked in product were most likely to choose &#8220;lack of career advancement&#8221; as their reason for quitting tomorrow.
