Culture, when done right, should be palpable in every part of a company’s processes, including in their hiring and onboarding. But according to a recent survey, more than 1 in 4 people say\u00a0the interview process for their current job didn’t fully convey the culture at the company.<\/p>\n

Thirty-percent of women and 27% of men responded “no,” to a query<\/a>\u00a0by Comparably<\/a> that asked\u00a0“Did your interview process give you a good representation of the culture at your company?” (70% of women and 73% of men said “yes.”) More than 1,000 people across the tech industry participated in the query.<\/p>\n

People in executive roles and HR had the highest rates of saying that the interview process offered a good representation of the company culture. People in IT, operations, business development and product had the lowest.<\/p>\n

While it might seem logical that those in the later part of their careers would be better at judging what a\u00a0company’s culture might be like, data shows that’s not the case: the percentages were about even across people of all age groups.<\/p>\n
