Political discussions have historically been an office no-no — and there may be good reason. Today, 1 in 3 people say their coworkers’ political views affect their working relationships, according to the latest reading of an ongoing query<\/a> by Comparably<\/a>.<\/p>\n

More than 5,000 people across the tech industry responded to the query.<\/p>\n

The youngest are most sensitive<\/b><\/p>\n

People in the 18 to 25-year-old age group were most likely to say their coworkers’ political views affect them (nearly 45%). The percentage declined from there, hitting a low among workers 46 to 50 (29%).<\/p>\n

Forty-four percent of African American respondents and 41% of Hispanic\/Latino respondents say they are affected by their coworkers’ political views. Thirty-two percent of Caucasians said the same.<\/p>\n
