Recruiters still aren’t the most popular way to find jobs, but men rely on them more than women, according to the latest reading of an\u00a0ongoing query<\/a>\u00a0by\u00a0Comparably<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The data shows that men were more likely to use a recruiter than women (22% of men vs. 15% of women). Another difference is that 39% of women were likely to apply online compared to 29% of men.<\/p>\n

More than 10,000 people, predominantly across the tech sector, participated in the survey.<\/p>\n

Overall results<\/b><\/p>\n

We’re living in a time of great technological change, but that hasn’t changed the way people get interviews. According to the data, 34% of people say they got their first interview\u00a0for their current job by applying online and 26% say they got it through a referral. The next most popular ways were “recruiter” (19%), “other” (12%) and “networking” (9%).<\/p>\n

More than 1,000 people\u00a0responded to\u00a0the query.<\/p>\n

Experience counts<\/b><\/p>\n

While both “applied online” and “referral” were the most popular answers for all age groups, it appears workers with 10 years of experience or more were more likely to get a referral than to apply online. Sampling below:<\/p>\n
