Many people in today’s 24\/7 hyperconnected business environment work far beyond the typical 8-hour day. But when asked to describe their biggest source of stress at work, just 13% of people said their hours.<\/p>\n

That’s according to the latest reading<\/a> of an ongoing query by Comaparably of more than 10,000\u00a0respondents, predominantly in the U.S. tech sector.<\/p>\n

The most common answer was “unclear goals,” with an overwhelming 41% of the vote. “Commute” and “bad managers” each received 16% of the vote, and “difficult coworker” received 14% of the vote.<\/p>\n

Women and men shared almost identical responses, though 43% of men chose “unclear goals” versus 37% of women. Women had slightly more stress from difficult coworker (16%) then men (13%).<\/p>\n

Experience<\/b><\/p>\n

When looking at the data from an experience perspective, it’s clear that “unclear goals” were the biggest source of stress at all levels (entry-level to more than 10 years of experience). The data showed surprisingly similarities across all experience levels, with “too long hours” being the smallest problem for every group except entry-level workers, who said “difficult co-worker” and “bad manager”\u00a0were actually smaller problems.<\/p>\n
