There are many reasons\u00a0you might feel like quitting your job, but what would your reason be if you had to quit tomorrow?<\/p>\n

When asked this hypothetical question, 38% of people said they would quit due to feeling underpaid or unappreciated, according to the latest reading of an\u00a0ongoing query\u00a0<\/a>by\u00a0Comparably<\/a>. The other reasons had little to do with compensation: the second-most popular reason was “lack of career advancement” (32%), “negative work environment” (12%), “company instability” (12%), and difficult coworkers (6%).<\/p>\n

More than 10,000 people across the technology industry responded to the query.<\/p>\n

The only department who felt differently\u00a0was product<\/b><\/p>\n

Of all of the tech workers surveyed, those who worked in product were most likely to choose “lack of career advancement” as their reason for quitting tomorrow. The average worker in every other department chose “underpaid or unappreciated.”<\/p>\n
