Thirty-three percent of workers aged 56 to 60 admitted to having dated a coworker\u00a0while they worked at the same company, according to data from Comparably<\/a>. The data is from a June 2 reading of an ongoing query<\/a> of more than 5,000 workers in the technology industry.<\/p>\n

Your chances increase with time<\/b><\/p>\n

Thirty-three percent was the highest rate among any age group. The lowest rate was among workers 18 to 25, 23% of whom admitted to having dated a coworker.<\/p>\n

Note: While the general trend was that the chance of a coworker relationship grew with age, it appeared to drop off drastically among those workers 61 and up. This was likely a result of those age groups having a significantly smaller sample size; therefore, we excluded that data.<\/p>\n

Operations is for lovers<\/b><\/p>\n

Thirty-four percent of employees who work in operations selected \u201cyes\u201d when asked if they had ever dated a coworker they were working with at the time. Only 22% of employees in engineering said the same.<\/p>\n

Women in operations were most likely to report having dated a coworker (38%). Women in legal were least likely to report the same (18%).<\/p>\n

Cities with the highest rates<\/b><\/p>\n

Workers in Chicago, Los Angeles, and Boston reported the highest rates of coworker relationships, while workers in Portland, Ore., Washington, D.C., and Salt Lake City reported the lowest rates.<\/p>\n
