Ms. Catherine Avgiris, also known as Cathy, has been Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of Comcast Cable Communications, LLC since July 1, 2013. Ms. Avgiris serves as Chief Financial Officer of Comcast Cable of Comcast Corporation and has been its Executive Vice President since 2012. She leads Comcast's XFINITY Internet, XFINITY Voice and consumer wireless business. Ms. Avgiris is responsible for launching the Verizon Wireless partnership, managing its Internet Essentials program, which provides low-cost Internet service to low-income families, and overseeing Comcast's WiFi initiative. She served as General Manager of Communications and Data Services at Comcast Corporation since March 2010. Ms. Avgiris served as Executive Vice President and General Manager of Communications and Data Services Group at Comcast Cable Communications LLC from February 16, 2012 to July 1, 2013 and served as its General Manager of Communications and Data Services. She served as Senior Vice President of Comcast Cable Communications LLC from March 2010 to February 16, 2012. Ms. Avgiris served as General Manager of Voice Services, Cable of Comcast Corp. A 14-year veteran of the communications industry, Ms. Avgiris's influence extends far beyond her success with the launch of Comcast Digital Voice??. From 2003 to 2005, she served as the Senior Vice President of Finance for Comcast Cable and managed all financial and administrative activity for Comcast Online and Voice services. Ms. Avgiris helped formulate and execute a launch strategy that grew Comcast's High-Speed Internet business from 150,000 customers to the nation's largest ISP with 10 million customers to date. Prior to joining Comcast in 1992, Ms. Avgiris spent 11 years in finance, serving as Chief Financial Officer of Drexel Industries, Inc., and as an Audit Manager with Deloitte & Touche. Ms. Avgiris began her career in the communications industry as a Regional Vice President of Finance and Operations managing cable systems in excess of 500,000 subscribers and helped execute one of the first digital cable launches for Comcast. Ms. Avgiris serves in leadership roles with Women in Cable and Telecommunications (WICT) and Cable and Telecommunications Association for Marketing (CTAM). She also serves as a member of the Accenture Women's Leadership Forum and is a graduate of the 2004 Class of Leadership Inc., a year-long leadership and development program in Philadelphia. A graduate of Baruch College, Ms. Avgiris holds a B.A. in Accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant in New York and Pennsylvania.
