Mr. Caruso served as Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President of Janssen Biotech, Inc. (also known as Centocor Inc.) since January 1998. He also served as Vice President of finance of Centocor Inc. from December 1994 to December 1997 and as its Vice President and Corporate Controller from January 1991 to November 1994. He served as General Manager of Diagnostics Division at Centocor Inc. from January 1997 to July 1997. He was associated with Centocor Inc. since November 1985 with responsibilities for finance, information management, investor relations, procurement and facility services. He worked for the audit and tax services firm KPMG. He is a Certified Public Accountant. He serves as a Director of the Board of Trustees of The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Delaware Valley Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Mr. Caruso graduated from Drexel University with a B.S. degree in Business Administration.
