Keith G. Myers is co-founder of LHC Group and has served as chairman and CEO since 1994. Mr. Myers helped establish LHC Group in 1994 as a single freestanding home health agency in rural St. Landry Parish, La. Along with his wife, a nurse, and a core group of concerned residents, he began out of concern for four elderly members of his small community who were unable to access home health services due to their rural location. It was with this small office as a foundation that they began to build one of the largest Louisiana companies to ever go public.
Under Myers’ leadership, LHC Group has grown to become one of the nation’s largest providers of post-acute healthcare – a publicly traded company (NASDAQ: LHCG) with approximately 32,000 employees supporting more than 800 agency locations serving cities, towns, and communities in 35 states and the District of Columbia.
Mr. Myers is a co-founder and chairman of the Partnership for Quality Home Healthcare in Washington, D.C., and a co-founder and former board member of the Alliance for Home Health Quality and Innovation. He received credentials from the National Association for Home Care and Hospice in 1999, and was granted credentials by the Healthcare Financial Management Association in 2005.
In June 2003, Mr. Myers was named the Regional Entrepreneur of the Year for outstanding performance in the field of healthcare services, and was officially inducted as a lifetime member of the National Entrepreneur of the Year Hall of Fame in November of the same year. Inducted in 2015, he is also a member of the National Home Care & Hospice Hall of Fame.
Mr. Myers currently serves on a technical expert panel (TEP) that advises the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and other key Washington, D.C. policymakers. He has actively participated in data analysis and the preparation of numerous home care policy white papers and presentations to members of both the U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives.
