Mr. Thomas E. Rollins, M.S., M.B.A., has been the Chief Development Officer and Head of the Microbiome Program at Assembly Biosciences, Inc. since January 11, 2016. Mr. Rollins served as Senior Vice President of Program, Global Head of Program and Portfolio Management and Portfolio Management at Cubist Pharmaceuticals Inc. since July 02, 2012. Mr. Rollins joined Cubist from Sunovion Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a subsidiary of Dainippon Sumitomo Pharmaceuticals Inc., where he served as Senior Vice President of Program Management and R&D Planning since 2009. He spent 15 years at Sunovion Pharmaceuticals Inc. as Vice President of Development Operations from 2001 to 2005 and Senior Vice President of Product Development from 2005 to 2009. At Sepracor, he served as Senior Vice President of Development and established an efficient and productive semi-virtual drug development organization that advanced Lunesta?? from IND through NDA submission in just 42 months. Prior to Sepracor, he held numerous senior research and project positions at Merck Research Laboratories. During his tenure, Mr. Rollins oversaw the global development and commercialization of the anti-bacterial drugs Sivestro??? and Zerbaxa???, and helped transform Cubist into a multi-program, multi-product company. Earlier in his career, Mr. Rollins served as a researcher before moving to Project Management at Merck, where he was co-team leader for a number of major global products, including Crixivan???, the first HIV protease inhibitor and the pioneering osteoporosis drug Fosamax???. Mr. Rollins received an MBA from Rutgers University and BS and MS degrees from Michigan State University.

Mr. David J. Barrett, C.P.A., has been the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Assembly Biosciences, Inc. since February 10, 2015 and July 2010 respectively. Mr. Barrett serves as Chief Financial Officer of Ventrus Biosciences, Inc. He served as Principal Accounting Officer and Company Secretary of Assembly Biosciences, Inc. From April 2006 to September 2009, He served as Chief Financial Officer of Neuro-Hitech, Inc. From September 2003 to April 2006, he served as the Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Finance of Overture Asset Managers and Overture Financial Services, which, at the time, was a start-up asset management firm that assembled investment products and platforms to distribute turnkey and unbundled investment solutions to financial intermediaries and institutional investors. From July 1999 to September 2003, he served as a Manager at Deloitte & Touche, LLP. He served as Director of Fortress Biotech, Inc. (formerly known as Coronado Biosciences, Inc.) from May 2011 to July 15, 2015. Mr. Barrett is a Certified Public Accountant. Mr. Barrett received his B.S. in Accounting and Economics in May of 1998 and his M.S. in Accounting in May of 1999 from the University of Florida.

Dr. Miguel S. Barbosa, PhD. has been Strategic Advisor of Assembly Biosciences, Inc. since October 31, 2017. Dr. Barbosa served as the Chief Scientific Officer of the Microbiome Program at Assembly Biosciences, Inc. since September 2016 until October 31, 2017 and served as its Head of Microbiome Program since April 6, 2017 until October 31, 2017. Dr. Barbosa served as the Chief Scientific Officer and Executive Vice President of Mirna Therapeutics, Inc. since September 2015 until June 29, 2016. Dr. Barbosa served as an Executive in Residence for Therapeutic Innovation at Johnson & Johnson Innovation from April 2015 to September 2015, a pharmaceutical company and part of The Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies, or J&J, where he led the identification and development of new research and development and business models. Previously, Dr. Barbosa served as Vice President of Immunology Research & External Innovation from June 2010 to March 2015 and as Vice President of Immunology Research from June 2009 to June 2010 at Janssen Research & Development L.L.C. From 2005 to 2009, Dr. Barbosa served in various roles, including Vice President of Discovery Research at Centocor Research & Development, Inc. He has more than two decades of experience leading drug discovery and development programs at major pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. Dr. Barbosa received a B.S. in Genetics from the University of California, Davis and a Ph.D. in Microbiology & Immunology from the University of California, Los Angeles.
