Dr. Martin Raffield has been Senior Vice President of Project Development and Technical Services at Golden Star Resources, Ltd. since July 17, 2016. Dr. Raffield served as Senior Vice President of Operations, Project Development and Technical Services at Golden Star Resources, Ltd. since August 2011 until July 17, 2016 and served as its Senior Vice President of Technical Services since August 2011. Dr. Raffield has over 20 years of mining experience with a focus on team building, leadership, safety and communication, combined with a strong technical and analytical background. Dr. Raffield was a Principal of SRK Consulting (US) Inc. He served various engineering and management positions with Breakwater Resources, Placer Dome and JCI Ltd. Dr. Raffield has a Ph.D. in geotechnical engineering from the University of Wales and is a Professional Engineer registered in Ontario, Canada.

Mr. Andre Van Niekerk has been the Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of Golden Star Resources, Ltd. since April 7, 2014. Mr. Van Niekerk served as Vice President of Golden Star Resources, Ltd. until April 7, 2014 and served as its Controller from July 2012 to April 7, 2014. Mr. Van Niekerk joined Golden Star in 2006. He spent close to five years in Ghana as the head of finance and business operations, after which he was transferred back to the corporate headquarters to take the role of Controller. Mr. Van Niekerk spent six years with KPMG serving clients in the mining and oil and gas industries. His education includes a B.S. in accounting sciences and he is a Certified Public Accountant.

Mr. Daniel Monney Akwafo Owiredu, BSc (Hons) (Mech.Eng), MBA has been the Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of Golden Star Resources Ltd. since January 2013. Mr. Owiredu served as an Executive Vice President of Operations at Golden Star Resources since January 1, 2013 until January 9, 2014. Mr. Owiredu served as Vice President of Ghana Operations at Golden Star Resources Ltd. since September 25, 2006. Mr. Owiredu served as Deputy Chief Operating Officer of Africa for Anglogold Ashanti Ltd. since October 2005. He joined Ashanti Goldfields Company Limited in 1984 and served in various engineering capacities. He served as the Managing Director of the Obuasi Mine of Ashanti Goldfields Co. Ltd. since 2002 and served as its Acting Chief Operating Officer since December 31, 2003. Mr. Owiredu has over 17 years of service with Ashanti Goldfields. Since March 2004, he served as Chief Operating Officer of West Africa following the Ashanti/AngloGold merger. He was appointed an executive officer in May 2005. Mr. Akwafo served as a Managing Director of Siguiri mines in Guinea. Mr. Owiredu served as Managing Director of the Bibiani mine which he managed as a project prior to its commissioning. Mr. Owiredu served as Chief Engineer of underground mining operations for Obuasi mine and was instrumental in the setting up of its BIOX'r' plant from inception to commissioning. Prior to his current appointment, he served as Managing Director of Societe Ashanti Goldfields de Guinee. Mr. Owiredu is a Ghanaian Engineer with more than 30 years' experience in the mining sector in Ghana and West Africa. He served as Chairman and Director of GCB Bank Limited from October 9, 2014 to April 3, 2017. He has been a Director of Golden Star Resources Ltd. since November 04, 2014. Mr. Owiredu holds a BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology, Kumasi and an MBA degree from Strathclyde Business School in Scotland, UK.

Mr. S. Mitchell Wasel, also known as Mitch, has been Vice President of Exploration of Golden Star Resources Ltd since September 1, 2007. Mr. Wasel served Exploration Manager of Golden Star Resources Ltd. since September 1, 2007 and also served as its Regional Exploration Manager of West Africa since March 2004. He has 16 years of experience in gold and base metal exploration. He worked for several companies in northern Canada. He commenced his employment with Golden Star in 1993, initially in regional exploration program for Suriname and then with the Gross Rosebel project, a mine operated by IAMGold Corporation, where he progressed to the position of Project Manager. In 1999, Mr. Wasel was transferred to Ghana to become Country Exploration Manager and was instrumental in the establishment of Golden Star's gold Mineral Reserves at Bogoso/Prestea, which grew over 12 fold between 1999 and 2005. Since 2006, he has led Golden Star 's regional exploration activities in West Africa focusing on the exploration of property holdings in Niger, Burkina Faso, Cote d'Ivoire and Sierra Leone. He is a member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy. Mr. Wasel is a Canadian geologist and graduated from the University of Alberta in 1988 with a BSc Honors degree in Geology.

Gil Clausen serves as the Member Board of Directors of Golden Star Resources Ltd.. Gil started at Golden Star Resources Ltd. in June of 2016. Gil currently resides in Greater Denver Area.

Bruce Higson-Smith serves as the SVP Corporate Strategy of Golden Star Resources Ltd.. Bruce currently resides in the Greater Denver Area.
