Mr. Evert Schimmelpennink, also known as Eef, has been Chief Executive Officer, President and Secretary of Pfenex Inc. since August 3, 2017. Mr. Schimmelpennink served as Chief Executive Officer at ALVOTECH ehf until July 3, 2017. He has over 18 years of global generic pharmaceutical experience and has a strong track record of delivering profitable growth. Prior to joining Alvotech, he served as Vice President of Global at Sterile Injectibles Pfizer. He served as Vice President of Global Generics at Hospira. He has also held various senior commercial leadership positions at Synthon and Numico/Danone. He has been a Director of Pfenex Inc. since August 3, 2017. Mr. Schimmelpennink received a Masters in bioprocess engineering from the Wageningen University in the Netherlands.

Mr. Patrick K. Lucy has been the Chief Business Officer of Pfenex Inc. since 2009. Mr. Lucy served as Interim Chief Executive Officer, President and Secretary at Pfenex Inc. from January 24, 2017 to August 3, 320174 and previously served as its Vice President of Business Development. He played a leadership role on the original team that developed Pfenex Expression Technology??? and subsequently led the successful commercial launch of the platform in 2004. He has led the negotiation and completion of numerous technology partnering, licensing, manufacturing and collaboration agreements with the federal government and pharmaceutical companies worldwide. Mr. Lucy is experienced in the areas of alliance management, licensing, intellectual property, biopharmaceutical operations and biopharmaceutical facility design, construction and validation. Prior to his role in Pfenex Mr. Lucy was employed by The Dow Chemical Company for nine years in business development roles for the Dowpharma business unit. Mr. Lucy has been in the biotechnology industry for over eighteen years and was previously employed by Collaborative BioAlliance, Inc., Lonza Biologics, Celltech Biologics and Repligen Corporation. He serves as Director of Association for Accessible Medicines. Mr. Lucy holds a BS in Biology from Villanova University.

Dr. Hubert C. Chen, M.D. has been the Chief Medical Officer of Pfenex Inc. since November 2014. Dr. Chen served as Vice President of Clinical Development at Aileron Therapeutics, Inc. from July 2012 to October 2014. Dr. Chen served as Vice President of Translational Medicine at Regulus Therapeutics, LLC since September 2009 until June 2012 and was responsible for leading the translation of the important biological discoveries in the field of microRNA therapeutics into new medicines. From September 2006 to September 2009, Dr. Chen served as Senior Director of Corporate Development of Amylin Pharmaceuticals. Prior to joining Regulus, Dr. Chen served as Senior Director of Clinical Research at Amylin Pharmaceuticals. Previously, Dr. Chen led the early development of drugs for type 2 diabetes and metabolic disorders as Associate Director of Medical Sciences at Amgen Inc. from March 2004 to September 2006. From 2001 to 2004, Dr. Chen served as a Staff Research Investigator, Staff Scientist and Research Scientist at the Gladstone Institute of Cardiovascular Disease. From 2002 to 2012, he was Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and was a Clinical Fellow at both UCSF and Harvard Medical School. He performed his Postdoctoral Research at Gladstone Institute of Cardiovascular Disease and his Medical Residency at Massachusetts General Hospital from 1995 to 1998. Dr. Chen received an M.D. degree from Columbia University and a B.A.S. in Political Sciences and Biological Sciences from Stanford University in 1991.

Ms. Patricia Lady, CPA, MBA CMA has been the Chief Accounting Officer of Pfenex, Inc. since 2011. Ms. Lady served as Vice President of Finance of Pfenex, Inc. since January 2011 and its Corporate Controller since 2009. Ms. Lady is responsible for Finance and Accounting. She served as Director of Finance of Pfenex, Inc. since 2009. Prior to joining Pfenex, she had experience in finance, corporate development, business development and corporate accounting of companies ranging in size from start-ups through Fortune 500. Most recently she was with Neurocrine Biosciences Inc., a product based biopharmaceutical company focused on the development and commercialization of innovative pharmaceutical products where she served as Director of Finance. She also served as Corporate Controller of Avanir Pharmaceuticals. She holds an MBA from the University of California, Los Angeles and a Bachelors in Accounting from California State University, Fullerton. She is a licensed certified public accountant in the state of California, a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and a certified management accountant.

Mr. Steven S. Sandoval, Sr., also known Steve, as served as the Chief Manufacturing Officer at Pfenex Inc. since September 2016 until September 8, 2017 and served as its Chief of Manufacturing & Operations. Mr. Sandoval joined Pfenex in 2016 and has over 25 years of commercial biopharmaceutical engineering and operations experience, specializing in commercial operations, facility design and licensure of large scale biopharmaceutical commercial manufacturing facilities. He has extensive knowledge of cGMP biopharmaceutical engineering as well as significant first-hand experience preparing for and interfacing with the FDA and other global regulatory agencies during pre-licensure and biennial inspections of commercial cGMP biopharmaceutical manufacturing facilities. Mr. Sandoval founded and served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Pharmaceutical Technical Solutions, Inc. from 2010 to September 2016. From 2008 to 2009, Mr. Sandoval served as Lead Senior Construction Manager for Parsons, Inc., an engineering and construction firm. From 1989 to 2008, Mr. Sandoval held various management positions at Amgen, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company, including Facilities and Engineering Director from 2004 to 2008. Prior to joining Pfenex, Mr. Sandoval was a Member of Amgens site executive management leadership team responsible for the aggressive growth at the Puerto Rico manufacturing site.

Ms. Susan A. Knudson has been Chief Financial Officer of Pfenex Inc. since February 01, 2018. Ms. Knudson served as the Chief Financial Officer of Neothetics, Inc. (Alternate Name: Lithera, Inc.) since July 2014. Ms. Knudson served as Chief Financial Officer of Neothetics, Inc. since February 2009 and also served as its Vice President of Finance and Administration. She served as Senior Director of Finance and Administration of Avera Pharmaceuticals Inc. from May 2002 to January 2009. Ms. Knudson has over 15 years of experience in accounting, finance and operations. She served as the Director of Finance and Administration of MD Edge from October 2000 through April 2002. From 2000 to 2001, she served as Assistant Director of Accounting at Isis Pharmaceuticals. From 1998 to 2000, she served as the Controller of CombiChem Inc. Ms. Knudson has also held senior accounting positions at General Atomics and Deloitte & Touche. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from the University of San Diego in 1987 and is a candidate for CPA.

Sigurdur Olafsson serves as the Director for Pfenex Inc. Sigurdur started at Pfenex Inc in May of 2017. Sigurdur is based in the Greater New York City Area.

Carrie Schneider serves as the Director of Product Development for Pfenex Inc.. Carrie started at Pfenex Inc. in March of 2013. Carrie is based in the Greater San Diego Area.
