He began his career at the law firm of Kirkland & Ellis LLP and has worked with several Chicago-based companies, including Sears, Roebuck and Co. and True North Communications Inc., where he handled mergers and acquisitions, litigation and corporate securities. He served as Director of The Illinois Restaurant Association. He graduated with a B.A. in Government from the University of Notre Dame and the University of Illinois College of Law.
