Q&A With Shutterstock Employees
Shutterstock employees answer questions about what life is like behind the scenes at their company, including queries about culture, leadership, professional development, and compensation.
How employees describe working at Shutterstock
The company is extremely disorganized with leadership providing conflicting views of what a successful future could look like. Very high turnover at all levels leading to a pretty chaotic and unsuccessful environment. Morale is low, pay is pretty good, but not worth the years it will take off you.
They are constantly doing layoffs or randomly firing people, some who deserved it but many who were solid performers. No one gets close to each other because you don't want to get attached. Super weird, toxic culture.
I hated it there. There is no warmth, no one likes each other, leadership is awful. Head of HR is conniving and it shows in the culture.
