Mr. Douglas W. Heigel, also known as Doug, has been Senior Vice President of Operations at Invuity, Inc. since September 2017 and served as its Vice President of Operations since September 2014 until September 2017. Mr. Heigel served as Vice President of Operations of Solta Medical, Inc. ( known as Thermage, Inc.) from July 2003 to January 24, 2014. He led global operations, scaling capital equipment and consumable device operations from inception to $160 million in annual sales. He also led Solta Medical, Inc. through a successful IPO, multiple acquisitions and the eventual sale to Valeant Pharmaceuticals. Mr. Heigel joined Thermage in May, 2002 as Senior Director of Operations. He established and managed commercial operations infrastructure and business processes for several business functions, including sales and operations planning, supply chain, manufacturing engineering and product development. Mr. Heigel served as Instrument Manufacturing Manager of BioMolecular Technologies from February, 1995 to October, 1995. Mr. Heigel served as Vice President of Manufacturing for Argonaut Technologies from 1995 to 2002, a manufacturer of automated synthesis equipment and chemistry consumables utilized in pharmaceutical and biotech drug discovery research. Mr. Heigel developed Argonaut's instrument manufacturing capability and introduced several successful instrument product lines that propelled Argonaut through a successful IPO in 2000. He is responsible for manufacturing at BioMolecular Technologies, a start-up manufacturer of biotech instrumentation. Mr. Heigel served various managerial positions in manufacturing and engineering from July 1988 to February, 1995, including his final position as Operations/Manufacturing Manager, at MTI Analytical Instruments, a manufacturer of analytical instrumentation. Mr. Heigel has more than 25 years of management experience involving engineering, manufacturing, supply chain management and product service related to scientific instrumentation, capital equipment and related consumables. Mr. Heigel holds B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Oregon State University.
