Mr. Christopher Barton Hunt, also known as Chris, serves as the Partner and Managing Director of Riverstone Holdings LLC and Riverstone LLC. He joined the firm in 2008. In the course of his career, he has developed, constructed, financed and/or operated renewable and conventional energy businesses in over 25 countries involving more than 30GWs of power capacity. He served as the Managing Director of The Carlyle Group LP. Mr. Hunt joined Riverstone Holdings in 2008. He was one of the principals leading the creation and growth of BP Alternative Energy. At BP Alternative Energy, Mr. Hunt was a principal architect in several strategic acquisitions and developments that positioned the renewable portfolio for significant profitability and future growth. He served as Chief Executive, President or board member of several subsidiary companies. Before BP, he worked extensively in the energy sector including with Enron, where he was responsible for the acquisition, development and operations of a multi-billion dollar portfolio of 16 coal, gas, wind and distribution businesses spread across Asia and Latin America. Prior to Enron, Mr. Hunt was a founding member of a privately held international private power company that developed multiple wind and gas-fired power assets across Latin America, Europe and Asia. He serves as Chairman of Velocita Energy Developments Ltd. He has been Director of Enviva Partners GP LLC since April 27, 2016. He serves as Independent Non-Executive Director of NTR plc. He serves as a Director of Seajacks and Pattern Energy Group LP. Mr. Hunt serves as a Director of Silver Ridge Power, LLC and AES Solar, Pattern Energy LP 1, Pattern Energy LP 2, Avant Energy. Mr. Hunt serves on the boards of a number of Riverstone portfolio companies and their affiliates. He served as a Non-Executive Director of Altas Investments plc. He has served on multiple Boards through the course of his career. Mr. Hunt has nearly 30 years of experience in renewable/alternative energy, gas and power. Mr. Hunt holds a B.A., with high departmental honors from Wesleyan University. He received a M.B.A., beta gamma sigma, from Columbia University and also completed various post-graduate training at Harvard, Stanford, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Oxford Universities.
