    Not understanding how the interview process works. If you ask the recruiter about the process they will give you a detailed explanation. It is a waste of everyone's time if the applicant is not prepared. Also, people who cannot articulate how they are unique and why they're a good fit for the position. If you can't tell me why I should hire you, then why would I?

    When the applicant oversells himself/herself (i.e. adding more skills/experience) and ends up sounding pretentious.

    when they try to prove that they are smarter than me. Maybe it is true, but it means they will be impossible to work with anyway.
