
Assign experienced Project Managers/Team Leads. Every PM or lead that was assigned to my project new very little about the work and didn't do a good job with day-to-day management of the Deloitte staff. They seemed more focused on building client/customer relationships, which is key to maintaining the project award, however, showing interest in ensuring that team members are engaged and acclimated to the client environment is important as well.
Focus on bringing in and developing strong talent and building the firm’s capabilities. There’s a lot of talk about comp, which is fine. But it never matters if people don’t know how to think through problems. Teach them to think.
