What's one thing you wish you'd known before joining Walmart?

Everyone is for themselves. No one will properly train you, no one will help you get equipment you need, no one will do any of these things unless you practically grab them by the wrist and lead them directly to doing it. Everyone is either super forgetful, or does not care at all about your issues. Probably a little of both.

How much they would’ve changed with the passing of Sam Walton. Realizing that his police and respect for the individual would be thrown out the door in favor of how to make the mighty dollar.

That hiring people who are not mature enough to know that this is not playtime, we are here to make a living and that pride in your work is important.

How the operations are controlled by home office leaving reduced flexibility at store level, and how intensely store management is pressured to adhere to those dictates

WELL I HAVE BEEN WITH WALMART STORE COMPANY FOR 25 YEARS SO THERE ISN'T ANYTHING THAT I ALREADY KNOW ABOUT WALMART STORE COMPANY.

How hard one must actually be prepared to work. Most incoming associates have the idea it will be a breeze, easy job.

How much of a crap company it is... that the managers treat the associates terribly... lots more but I’ll leave it at that

I wish i would have know how shysty and fake the managers are ...i would have never joined their company

That eventually it be so big and greedy it would lose touch with its associates

How hard it is to stand on that hard floor everyday and how unappreciated you feel

My job would end so abruptly for no wrong doing on my part.

How some of the management team could be so unfair with the employees

Attendance penalties for being sick. Cannot use sick pay without losing your job

Nothing, because I don't have any regret so far

they were going to stop paying Holiday pay

How much they change everything without notice

How bad the sick day policy is.
