From 1985 to 1988, he was a Member of the law firm of Smith & Schnacke. He has practiced law in Dayton, Ohio since 1974.

Mr. Douglas L. Bruggeman has been the Chief Financial Officer of REX American Resources Corporation since 2003 and its Vice President of Finance and Treasurer since 1989. Mr. Bruggeman joined Rex Stores Corp. in 1986. He serves as the Treasurer of Kelly & Cohen Appliances Inc. and Rex Radio And Television, Inc.
