What is most positive about the culture and environment at Slack?

People are friendly, but sometimes you get the sense that it's a bit artificial (i.e. we don't like to talk about problems)
Like the people, the company is supportive, has tons of empathy, and is great at letting us get our work done.

Every single person I've interacted with at the company is smart, understanding, and helpful. My core team is like a family.
Everyone is smart and friendly. My team is half women and very diverse.
What does the leadership team at Slack need to get better at?

Trust. Building a top-notch engineering culture.
They talk a great talk about values. But they feel more like a way to hide politics than something that the leadership team lives.

Our values mean almost nothing. We need to do more than talk about them—we need to see examples from the _top_ about how to _live_ them.
