Mr. C. Richard Neely, Jr., also known as Rick, has been Consultant at Intermolecular, Inc. since April 3, 2017. Mr. Neely served as the Chief Financial Officer of Intermolecular, Inc. since October 2013 until April 3, 2017 and also served as its Principal Financial and Accounting Officer and Senior Vice President until March 30, 2017. He served as an Managing Director of Finance of The First Marblehead Corp. since November 2008 and also served as its Treasurer since April 2011. He served as an Interim Chief Financial Officer of The First Marblehead Corporation from May 30, 2014. Mr. Neely served as the Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President at Tessera Technologies Inc., from August 15, 2012 to June 26, 2013 and served as its Principal Accounting Officer until June 26, 2013. He served as the Chief Financial Officer of Livescribe, Inc., from February 2011 to August 2012. He served as the Chief Financial Officer of Monolithic Power Systems Inc. from September 2005 to December 2010 and served as its Principal Accounting Officer and Senior Vice President of Finance until December 2010. He served as Senior Vice President of Finance at First Marblehead Corporation. He served as the Chief Financial Officer of MediaTek USA Inc. from November 2002 to September 2005. Mr. Neely joined NuCORE Technology in November, 2002 and has more than 22 years of financial and operations management experience in semiconductor, EDA and start-up company environments. He has successfully worked with Fortune 500, small cap and start-up companies to manage periods of rapid growth and development around the world. Mr. Neely was the Principal in his own consulting practice, focusing on preparing business and operating plans for start-up companies and assisting his clients in obtaining private financing. He served as the Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President at Alventive, Inc., He had been responsible for all of Alventive's financial operations, reporting and order fulfillment and delivery. Prior to joining Alventive, he served as the Chief Financial Officer, Interim Chief Executive Officer and Senior Vice President of Finance and Administration at Beyond.com from 1999 to 2000. He served as Vice President of Finance and Operations at Synopsys, Inc., one of the largest EDA software companies in the world, from 1998 to 1999 and Vice President and Corporate Controller of Heartport, Inc. from 1996 to 1998. Mr. Neely has a strong record of achievement in the new technologies and software industries. He was instrumental in managing rapidly growing technology companies like AMD, Synopsys and Heartport. In 2002, He was successful in assisting a software company in closing its B round and in obtaining a $650M bank mandate for a loan consortium for a wafer foundry start-up based in Germany. He led it through a re-structuring process that reduced spending by $12M per quarter while building a new core revenue stream. He managed both finance and operations groups totaling 160 employees, including all business units and world-wide sales subsidiaries. He had additional responsibilities as a Member of the Investor Relations team, giving analyst guidance, participating in quarterly conference calls and road shows and presenting at investment bank conferences. He spent almost 16 years with Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (AMD), joining AMD in 1980, when it was a $200M company and serving in a variety of financial management positions as it grew to $2.5B in revenue by 1996. Mr. Neely served as the Director and Group Controller for Asian Manufacturing Operations from 1980 to 1996, Director of Business Process Improvement, Director of European Operations and Administration, as well as World-wide Sales Controller, Regional Controller for Asia and Division Controller. He has been an Independent Director of Perceptron, Inc. since January 27, 2014. He has extensive International experience, having lived in Switzerland, Singapore and The Philippines during his tenure at AMD. He served as a Director of Aviza Technology, Inc. from January 31, 2007 to April 21, 2009. Mr. Neely has a Master's Degree in Business Administration in Finance and Marketing from the University of Chicago and a B.A. in Economics from Whitman College, where he graduated summa cum laude.
