
The compensation package may not align with many other tech companies, but other tech companies will not offer you as healthy of a culture and work-life balance that Newsela does.

Comparing in the labor market, I don't think Newsela's compensation package is outstanding. Though, not comparing for a second, of course my salary is the most important part of what Newsela offers me, and I'm incredibly grateful for the privilege of having such solid financial stability.

There needs to be more done around equity and access for people with disabilities or limitations. Due to medical issues, I was not able to attend company events in-person and, in one situation, no remote joining was provided. In another situation, the remote attendance setup was poorly organized

I would change to a monthly commission scale and provide more opportunities to make higher commissions earlier in the year. As it stands now, we do not have the opportunity to make significant commissions until the end of the year. There needs to be a higher commission percentage throughout the year

I took a pay cut to join Newsela, but my overall job satisfaction is higher at Newsela than at my previous job, even though my hours are longer at Newsela. Working less hours would make me feel better about my compensation.
