Mr. Richard G. Wheelahan, III, J.D. serves as a General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at Capitala Investment Advisors. Previously, Mr. Wheelahan served as a Director at the firm. Previously, he served as a Director and Vice President, Fund since 2010 at CapitalSouth Growth, which he joined in 2010 as an Associate. Prior to joining the legacy funds, Mr. Wheelahan served as an Associate Attorney at Moore & Van Allen PLLC's corporate practice group from 2008 to 2010. He served as an Associate Attorney at Mayer Brown LLP's leveraged finance practice group from 2007 to 2008. Mr. Wheelahan served as an Associate Attorney of Johnston, Barton at Proctor & Rose LLP from 2005 to 2007. He is a member of the North Carolina Bar. He received a J.D. in 2005 from University of North Carolina School of Law and a B.A. in Political Science in 2001 from Appalachian State University.
