Mr. Curtis A. Sampson, also known as Curt, founded Communications Systems Inc. in 1969 and has been its Non-Executive Chairman since 1971. Mr. Sampson is the owner of Sampson Farms (crop farming and a breeder of thoroughbred horses) based in Hector, Minnesota. Mr. Sampson served as an Interim Chief Executive Officer of Communications Systems Inc., from September 3, 2013 to June 4, 2014 andits Chief Executive Officer from 1969 to June 21, 2007. He served as the Chief Executive Officer of Hector Communications Corp., and served as President of each of its 9 wholly owned telephone subsidiaries in Minnesota and Wisconsin including Alliance Telecommunications Corporation. He began his telecom career at small REA financed independent that grew to become North American Communications Corporation from 1955 to 1970. He co-founded Canterbury Park Holding Corporation in 1994 and has been its Chairman since 1994. Mr. Sampson served as the Chairman of Hector Communications Corp. He has been a Director of Rural Telephone Bank Board since 1988, Communications Systems Inc. since 1969 and Canterbury Park Holding Corporation since 1994. He serves as a Director of University of Minnesota Foundation. Mr. Sampson is a Regent of Augsburg College in Minneapolis, Minnesota and a member of the Emeritus Board of Advisors of the University of Minnesota's Carlson School of Business. He served as a Director of Hector Communications Corp., from 1990 to 2006. He served as Director of Solix Inc. He served as Director of Swordfish Financial Inc. and Onvoy, LLC. He served as a Director of Nature Vision Inc., from August 2004 to August 2009. Mr. Sampson served as a Director of Nature Vision Operating Inc. from 1998 to 2004 and National Exchange Carrier Association from 1992 to 1996. He served as a Director of National Rural Telephone Association for 35 years. He is currently, or has been in the past, licensed as a horse owner in Arkansas, Florida, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Minnesota, Nebraska and Oklahoma. He graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1955.
