Mr. Remi Barbier founded Pain Therapeutics Inc. since May 1998 and has been its President and Chief Executive Officer since May 1998. Mr. Barbier serves as Corporate Secretary at Pain Therapeutics, Inc. Previously, Mr. Barbier helped in the growth or founding of: Exelixis Inc., a functional genomics company, ArQule, a chemistry company and EnzyMed (now owned by Albany Molecular Research), a chemistry company. Mr. Barbier served as the Chief Operating Officer of Exelixis from January 1996 to May 1998. Mr. Barbier served as a Vice President of Corporate Development and Clinical Project Manager of Xoma Corporation, a biotechnology company from October 1993 to December 1995. Mr. Barbier has been the Chairman of Pain Therapeutics Inc. since May 1998. He serves as a Member of Advisory Board at QB3. He has been a Director of Pain Therapeutics Inc. since May 1998. Mr. Barbier serves as a Director of Mendel Biotechnology, Inc. and of Poetic Genetics, Inc. Mr. Barbier holds BA from Oberlin College and an MBA from the University of Chicago.

Dr. Michael Marsman, Pharm.D. has been Senior Vice President of Regulatory Affairs at Pain Therapeutics Inc. since April 23, 2015. Dr. Marsman is responsible for developing and implementing regulatory strategies to gain drug approvals. He previously led regulatory affairs at Pain Therapeutics for nearly a decade before leaving in 2012 amid a corporate reorganization. Dr. Marsman served as Vice President of Regulatory Affairs at Impax Laboratories. Before that, he led Regulatory Affairs at Pain Therapeutics for nearly ten years. He also held senior positions at Millennium Pharmaceuticals, COR Therapeutics, Sequus Pharmaceuticals and Syntex, where he had shared responsibility for the regulatory approval of several high profile drugs.

Mr. Michael J. O'Donnell, also known as Mike, Esq., serves as Secretary and Corporate Counsel of Edison Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Mr. O'Donnell serves as Secretary of Pain Therapeutics Inc. and Labcyte Inc. He serves as a Corporate Counsel to numerous public and private biopharmaceutical and life sciences companies. He is the Corporate Secretary at BiPar Sciences, Inc. Mr. O'Donnell is a Partner of Wilson, Sonsini, Goodrich & Rosati. He has been providing general corporate representation to emerging growth companies for more than 20 years, with particular expertise in venture capital financings, public offerings, mergers and acquisitions, technology licensing and corporate partnering transactions. He served as a Corporate Counsel of Pain Therapeutics Inc. since 1993. Mr. O'Donnell has also been a Member of the law firm of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, Professional Corporation since 1993. He has published several articles and has been invited to speak on corporate strategic alliances and creative financing techniques for biotechnology companies. He has been a Director of Pain Therapeutics Inc. since June 1998. He serves as a Director at of BiPar Sciences, Inc. He served as a Director at Labcyte Inc. Mr. O'Donnell received his law degree, cum laude, from Harvard Law School and undergraduate degree, summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from Bucknell University.

Dr. Nadav Friedmann, Ph.D., M.D., has been the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Medical Officer of Pain Therapeutics Inc. since October 2001 and July 2004 respectively. Dr. Friedmann is an Owner of EMET Research Inc and serves as its President. He served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Daiichi Pharmaceutical Corporation from 1997 to April 2000 and Consultant to the Board of Directors of Daiichi Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. from 1995 to 1997. From 1992 to 1995, Dr. Friedmann served as a Vice President of Clinical Research at Xoma Corporation. From 1980 to 1991, he held various leadership positions with Johnson and Johnson including the position of a Vice President and Head of Research of the J&J Biotechnology Center. Previously, Dr. Friedmann served as a Medical Director of Abbott Laboratories. He serves as a Member of the Scientific Advisory Board at Presidio Partners. He has been a Director at Pain Therapeutics Inc. since September 1998. Dr. Friedmann holds an MD from Albert Einstein College of Medicine and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of California in San Diego.

Eric Schoen serves as the Chief Financial Officer of Pain Therapeutics, Inc.. Eric started at Pain Therapeutics, Inc. in October of 2018. Eric currently resides in the Austin, Texas Area.

Mike Zamloot serves as the Sr. Vice President, Technical Operations of Pain Therapeutics, Inc.. Mike started at Pain Therapeutics, Inc. in June of 2000. Mike currently resides in the Austin, Texas Area.
