Mr. Todd M. Pope has been the Chief Executive Officer and President of TransEnterix, Inc. (alternate name SafeStitch Medical, Inc.) since September 3, 2013. Mr. Pope has spent nearly 20 years in the medical device market with experience in cardiovascular, peripheral vascular, neurovascular and laparoscopic surgery. He served as Worldwide President of Cordis Cardiology, a division of Cordis Corporation. He served as the Chief Executive Officer of Liquidia Technologies. He spent total of 10 years at various leadership positions at Johnson and Johnson and Boston Scientific. He served as Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing, Neurovascular Division at Boston Scientific. He serves as a Non-Executive Director of Veryan Endovascular Ltd. He served as a Non-Executive Director of Veryan Medical, Ltd. since July 2012. Mr. Pope has been a Director of TransEnterix, Inc. since 2013. He is graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Dr. William Nimmons Kelley, M.D., Ph.D., has been a Professor of Medicine, Biochemistry and Biophysics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine since February 2000. In the national leadership arena, Dr. Kelley serves as the President of the American Society for Clinical Investigation, President of the American College of Rheumatology. He served as the Chief Executive Officer of the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center and Health System, Dean of the School of Medicine. He served as an Executive Vice President of the Pennsylvania University from 1989 to February 2000. He became Chief Executive Officer of the University of Pennsylvania Health System when it was established in 1993. He was the John G. Searle Professor and Chairman of the Department of Internal Medicine and Professor of Biological Chemistry at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor from 1975 to 1989. He has a long history of involvement in experimental models of gene therapy to the Board. He serves as the Chairman of the American Board of Internal Medicine and Chairman of the Residency Review Committee for Internal Medicine. He has been an Independent Director at TransEnterix, Inc. since January 1, 2015 and also serves as its Member of Advisory Board. He served as an Independent Director of GenVec, Inc. since June 2002 until June 16, 2017. He served as a Director of Merck & Co., Inc. from 1992 to May 22, 2012. He served as a Director of Advanced Bio-Surfaces Inc., since 2001. He served as a Director of ABS Corporation since 2001. He served as a Director of Beckman Coulter, Inc. from 1994 to June 20, 2011. He served as a Director of Polymedix, Inc. from November 2005 to June 30, 2009. He serves as a Trustee of The Merck Company Foundation. He serves as Member of the Board for Trustees at Emory University and the Emory Health Care System. Prior to 1975, he was a Professor of Medicine and Chief of the Division of Rheumatic and Genetic Diseases at Duke University Medical Center. He has served on the editorial boards of 13 medical journals and his bibliography includes more than 300 publications and 17 books. He is a Member of the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, a Member of the Association of American Physicians and the American Philosophical Society and a Master of the American College of Physicians. Dr. Kelley received his Medical Degree from Emory University.

Mr. Anthony Fernando has been the Chief Operating Officer at TransEnterix, Inc. since June 1, 2017. Mr. Fernando has been Chief Technology Officer at TransEnterix, Inc. since January 19, 2016 and serves as its Executive Vice President. He served as Vice President of International at TransEnterix from August 2015 to January 19, 2016. Mr. Fernando served as the Managing Director of Transenterix Italia at TransEnterix, Inc. since October 6, 2015. Mr. Fernando has over 15 years of experience driving business growth through innovation for healthcare companies, with over half of that time spent managing teams globally. He served as Vice President of Innovation and Technology within the international group at Stryker Corporation, where he was responsible for innovation and research and development across Stryker's medical device portfolio. Prior to joining Stryker, Mr. Fernando held positions at Becton Dickinson & Company, PerkinElmer Inc. and Varian, Inc. where he served as the Director Operations/General Manager of the Pharmaceutical Products business unit. Mr. Fernando holds both a Master's of Science in Mechanical Engineering, with an emphasis on Robotics and Automation and a Master's of Business Administration.

Mr. Joseph P. Slattery, also known as Joe, CPA, has been Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of TransEnterix, Inc. since October 2, 2013 and serves as its Principal Accounting Officer. Mr. Slattery served as the Chief Financial Officer, Chief Accounting Officer and Executive Vice President at Baxano Surgical, Inc. from April 19, 2010 to September 27, 2013. He served as Chief Financial Officer of QIAGEN Gaithersburg, Inc. from October 1, 2006 to July 2007 and served as its Principal Accounting Officer. He served as Senior Vice President of Finance and Information Systems of QIAGEN Gaithersburg, Inc., from September 2002 to July 2007 and was responsible for its global finance and information technology operations. Mr. Slattery served as Controller of QIAGEN Gaithersburg, Inc., from February 1996 to July 2000 and Vice President of Finance from July 1999 to September 2002 and served as a Member of its senior management for 10 years. Prior to joining in QIAGEN Gaithersburg in 1996, he served as an Audit Manager of KPMG and Staff Auditor of Ernst & Young. He has been a Director of Exosome Diagnostics, Inc., since July 8, 2013 and CVRx, Inc., since October 2008. He served as a Director of Micromet, Inc. from November 16, 2007 to March 7, 2012 and Baxano Surgical, Inc., from November 2007 to April 19, 2010. Mr. Slattery holds Bachelor of science in Accounting from Bentley College and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Tom Miller serves as the VP of Operations of TransEnterix, Inc. Tom started at TransEnterix, Inc in January of 2006. Tom currently resides in Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina Area.

Paul Ziegler serves as the Vice President of Sales of TransEnterix, Inc. Paul started at TransEnterix, Inc in August of 2015. Paul currently resides in Greater Denver Area.

Eric Smith serves as the Chief Commercial Officer of TransEnterix, Inc. Eric started at TransEnterix, Inc in September of 2018. Eric currently resides in Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina Area.

Kathleen Frost serves as the Vice President - Intellectual Property of TransEnterix, Inc. Kathleen currently resides in the San Francisco Bay Area.
