Treat everyone as if they are an integral part of the company. Listen to suggestions from the people who work on the floor rather than assume they know nothing. Acknowledge that we can all do our part to make things better, not just one person or department. Teamwork is crucial.
Everyone bad mouthed the company...we all needed to work on it. Perhaps if there weren't so many things awry, then there would not be as much to complain about. Doing your fare share during each shift and not saving work for the other employees that people should've done themselves.
Leadership should be exactly that, Leadership. There were no leaders at Gevo. There were lazy, disgruntled, and rude individuals in charge of delegating tasks with no plans to teach others or lead them. It became a very lackadaisical workplace and people stopped caring about the job.
