He is a holder of the Chartered Financial Analyst designation, which he was awarded in 1996. Mr. Grasby received his B.Comm. (Accounting) from the University of Calgary in 1987 and his MBA and LLB from Dalhousie University in 1991.

Mr. Christopher G. Webster, known as Chris, CGA, CFA, has been the Chief Financial Officer of Pengrowth Energy Corporation since March 2005. Mr. Webster is the Chief Financial Officer at Pengrowth Corporation. He served as Vice President of Pengrowth Corporation since March 21, 2005 and Treasurer from 2000 to 2005.
