More people striving to be the best they can be would be nice. Since it is a large company, there are some people who just coast when you know that they're capable of much more if they wanted to.
What part of Star Tribune's business is growing fastest? What part is having difficulties?
The digital product is definitely growing fastest. This includes the website, mobile applications, etc. This is how people are choosing to consume media as time goes on and we're having to adapt quickly. The circulation section is contracting, for sure. This has projected loss going into the future, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's losing money.
What's the company culture like at Star Tribune?
It really depends on the department you're in. Some departments are very loose and fun, much like a startup and others are very stuck in their ways like what most people think working for a large corporation is like.
What are you most excited about working at Star Tribune?
Quality journalism that covers important issues.

For my department I went through 8 interviews with different employees from across the board in ranking who became my peers after I was hired.

It's a very positive environment with lots of people who have a bright outlook on the future of the company. Also, it's very metered workplace that allows you to have a wonderful life/work balance.
