He has been the Chairman of 1st Detect Corporation since 2008. He has been an Independent Director at Xplore Technologies Corp. since November 5, 2016 and serves as its Lead Independent Director. He serves as a Director of Advocate, MD Financial Group Inc. He has served as Director of Optifab Inc. and Trenwick America Corporation. He has also served in the capacity representing the office of the Chairman, Mirant Equity Committee. Mr. Pickens received a BA of Economics from Southern Methodist University, Dallas, TX.
