Ms. Laura K. Campbell, CPA has been Senior Vice President of Finance at Athersys, Inc. since March 2016. Ms. Campbell served as Vice President of Finance at Athersys, Inc. since June 2006. Ms. Campbell served as Senior Director of Finance at Athersys, Inc. She served as Director of Finance at Athersys, Inc., since January 2000. She joined Athersys in January 1998 as Controller. From 1986 to 1997, she served in the audit department at Ernst & Young LLP, including as its Senior Manager. During her 11 years with Ernst & Young LLP, she specialized in entrepreneurial services and the biotechnology industry and participated in multiple initial public offerings. Ms. Campbell received her BS, with distinction, in Business Administration from The Ohio State University.

Dr. Manal Morsy, MD, Ph.D has been the Vice President of Global Regulatory Affairs at Athersys, Inc. since 2013. Dr. Morsy is responsible for the global regulatory activities for the company's therapeutic programs, including its MultiStem??? cell therapy. Dr. Morsy served as Vice President of Regulatory Affairs at PTC Therapeutics, Inc. since June 26, 2007. Dr. Morsy was responsible for leading PTC's regulatory affairs activities for PTC124, PTC299, and future clinical programs. Prior to joining PTC, Dr. Morsy worked three years at Tibotec / J&J, most recently serving as Senior Director, Global Regulatory Affairs. Dr. Morsy served as Director of Worldwide Regulatory Affairs for Merck & Co., where she supported new regulatory filings in the US and abroad, as well as supplemental filings for previously approved products. Dr. Morsy is the first author of numerous peer-reviewed publications, including those published in Journal of Clinical Investigation, Nature Biotechnology, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, and Journal of the American Medical Association. Dr. Morsy received her medical degree at the Alexandria University Faculty of Medicine and residency training in pediatrics and genetics at the Cairo National Research Center, her Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences and Molecular Biology from the Eastern Virginia Medical School, and her MBA from the Drexel University, Le Bow College of Business.

Dr. John J. Harrington, Ph.D. co-founded Athersys, Inc. in October 1995 and has been its Chief Scientific Officer and Executive Vice President since October 1995. Dr. Harrington is a Co-developer of the SMC technology and has led the development of the RAGE technology for both gene discovery and commercial protein production applications. He has been a Director of Athersys, Inc., since June 2007. From 1994 to 1998, he served a research appointment at Case Western Reserve University. Dr. Harrington received his PhD in Cancer Biology from Stanford University and his B.A. in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from the University of California at San Diego.

Laura Campbell serves as the Senior Vice President of Finance of Athersys. Laura started at Athersys in January of 1998. Laura currently resides in Cleveland/Akron, Ohio Area.
