Dr. John L. Gainer, Ph.D., is a Co-founder of Diffusion Pharmaceuticals Inc. and serves as its Chief Scientific Officer. Dr. Gainer serves as Professor Emeritus of the University of Virginia Department of Chemical Engineering. He served as Chief Scientific Officer and Director at Restorgenex Corporation since January 8, 2016. He served as a member of the faculty of the University of Virginia from 1966 to 2005. Dr. Gainer served as Chairman of Scientific Advisory Board of Diffusion Pharmaceuticals Inc. since April 2007 and serves as its Member of Scientific Advisory Board. He has been a member of the International Society for Oxygen Transport in Tissues since 1973. He serves as Director of Diffusion Pharmaceuticals Inc. He has authored more than 100 scientific journal articles, including more than 30 published in medical journals. He has worked four decades investigating the transport properties of small molecules in solvents and biological systems. Dr. Gainer has worked two sabbaticals investigating drug actions and related research in the laboratories of major pharmaceutical companies. He has received several teaching awards, including the University of Virginia Alumni Association's Distinguished Professor Award and the Outstanding Teacher Award from the Southeastern Section of the American Society for Engineering Education. Dr. Gainer received his Ph. D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Delaware in 1964.

Mr. Ben L. Shealy, MBA, CFA serves as the Principal Financial & Accounting Officer, Senior Vice President of Finance, Treasurer and Secretary at Diffusion Pharmaceuticals Inc. and served as the Chief Financial Officer, Senior Vice President of Finance, Treasurer and Secretary at Restorgenex Corporation since January 8, 2016. Mr. Shealy served as the Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of Diffusion Pharmaceuticals Inc. until December 17, 2015 and was responsible for implementing its overall financial strategy and directing the performance of day-to-day operational finance matters. Prior to working with Diffusion, Mr. Shealy served as Vice President of Finance of Corporate Software where he directed M&A activities which involved overseeing its $100+ million investment in several start-up high technology companies and the sale of Corporate Software to Level 3 Communications. Mr. Shealy also was responsible for Corporate Software's financial planning and analysis functions, as well as its corporate budgeting activity which supported $1.2 billion of world-wide sales. Mr. Shealy's Wall Street background encompassed both the sell-side (at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette and Prudential Securities) and the buy-side (at John Hancock). He has over twenty years of experience in financial management and in private and public corporate financings. Mr. Shealy received a BS in Accounting from San Jose State University, an MBA in Finance from Columbia University in New York City and is a CFA Charter holder.

Mr. Thomas E. Byrne, J.D., Esq., has been General Counsel of Diffusion Pharmaceuticals Inc. since April 1, 2016 and served as its Secretary and Senior Patent Strategist since 2007 until April 8, 2016. Mr. Byrne served as Intellectual Property Advisor at Royer Biomedical, Inc. He served as a Partner at Mara Venture Partners. He has practiced Patent Law for 15 years in two law firms and served as Patent Counsel at Genentech and Senior Patent Counsel at Amgen Inc, both leading biotech Companies located in California. He operates his own Consulting Company offering services to Biotechnology Companies in the areas of Intellectual Property, Contracts and Business Issues. He serves as Director at Royer Biomedical, Inc. He served as a Director of Restorgenex Corporation since January 8, 2016. He served as a Director of Diffusion Pharmaceuticals Inc. until April 1, 2016. Mr. Byrne holds two B.S. degrees, one in Chemical Engineering and one in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Virginia, an M.S. degree in Biochemical Engineering from Yale University and a JD degree from the University of Virginia.

William Hornung serves as the Chief Financial Officer of Diffusion Pharmaceuticals. William started at Diffusion Pharmaceuticals in September of 2018. William is currently based in the Charlottesville, Virginia Area.
