Mr. Patrick J. Kassen has been Managing Director in the Real Estate group at Blackstone Group L.P. since January 2018,. He is an Executive Vice President at Equity International. He is involved in the firm's new investment activity and management of the existing portfolio. He is responsible for the structuring, negotiation and documentation of the EI Funds and investments made by the EI Funds and the administration of EI's compliance program. Mr. Kassen joined the firm in March 2008 and has previously served as a Senior Vice President and Associate General Counsel. Prior to joining the firm, he was an Associate at the law firm Mayer Brown. Mr. Kassen began his career at Cravath, Swaine & Moore. He is a Director of Grupo Th??. He has extensive experience in corporate, securities, and real estate legal matters, including the formation of private funds, acquisitions of interests in private and public companies, securities offerings, joint ventures, acquisitions, and dispositions of real estate and financings. He also maintains expertise in financial industry regulation, in particular of private fund managers. Mr. Kassen received a J.D. from Harvard University; an evening M.B.A. from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management; and a B.A. from Princeton University. He was also a Fulbright Scholar in Peru.
