Mr. Dial's practice focuses primarily on complex civil litigation, including qui tam matters, white collar criminal defense, and internal investigations. His experience includes litigating criminal and civil cases at the trial and appellate levels, as well as defending individuals and companies in prosecutions and investigations by U.S. Attorneys' Offices, FDA, SEC and OFHEO. Mr. Dial left King & Spalding, from 1998-2004, to serve as an Assistant United States Attorney in San Diego and Atlanta. As an AUSA, he tried and prosecuted various criminal cases involving corporate fraud, tax evasion, investment fraud, counterfeiting, money laundering and violent crimes. He was an exceptionally talented trial attorney, winning convictions in all of his felony jury trials, including several lengthy, complex and high profile federal prosecutions. He also represented the United States in oral arguments before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth and Eleventh Circuits, served as lead counsel for the FBI anti-money laundering initiative and lectured on behalf of the Department of Justice to various foreign law enforcement officials on investigating and prosecuting financial crime cases. Mr. Dial received his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 1988, where he also earned All-Star honors as a member of the football team and received the Paul Wellman Award for Academic and Athletic Excellence. Upon graduation, he went on to play professional football for the Philadelphia Eagles in 1988-89. Afterwards, Mr. Dial attended Howard University School of Law, earning his law degree and graduating at the top of his class in 1993. Mr. Dial served as a member of the Howard Law Journal and was elected executive articles editor. Mr. Dial is admitted to practice in Illinois, the District of Columbia, and Georgia. He is also admitted to practice in various federal courts including the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, the District of Columbia and the Northern District of Illinois.

Mr. Rothermel is admitted to practice in Georgia. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the Atlanta Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. Mr. Michael R. Pauze is a Partner at King & Spalding LLP. Previously, Mr. Pauze served as Deputy Chief of the Southern Division in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Maryland since 2009. He was an Associate in King & Spalding's Washington, D.C., office from 1994 to 1999. Mr. Pauze is expected to focus on government and corporate internal investigations and litigation relating to financial matters such as tax and accounting fraud, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and life sciences sector, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and other matters related to federal enforcement actions. Mr. Pauze joined the U.S. Attorney's Office in Greenbelt, Maryland, in 2004, serving as an assistant U.S. attorney before becoming deputy chief of the Southern Division. He directed a wide range of prosecutions including offenses involving tax and corporate fraud, the Bank Secrecy Act, false statements and claims to federal agencies, regulatory violations and public corruption. Formerly, he was a trial attorney on the DOJ's Enron Task Force and in the criminal enforcement section of the DOJ's tax division. He led the investigation of potential tax violations in connection with the collapse of Enron Corporation, securing the conviction of a company assistant treasurer. He also headed, in multiple U.S. jurisdictions, investigations and prosecutions of tax offenses collectively involving the concealment of hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue by U.S. and foreign corporations. Mr. Pauze earned a J.D. degree from Vanderbilt University Law School and a B.S. in Finance, with high distinction, from Indiana University. He received numerous awards from the U.S. Attorney's Office and the U.S. Department of Justice for superior performance and excellence as a lawyer.

James Castello has been Partner of International Arbitration Group at King & Spalding LLP since May 2009. In more than 20 years as a practicing lawyer, Mr. Castello has advised and represented clients in a wide range of legal disputes, particularly international arbitrations (both institutional and ad hoc). Recent matters in which he has been involved have ranged from large infrastructure or commercial projects to disputes over control of an oil refinery, a geophysical study project, a failed commodity purchase, and a contested privatization of leased government property. For the past eight years, Mr. Castello has also served on the United States' delegation to the Arbitration Working Group at the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL). During those years, the Working Group has completed significant revisions in the UNCITRAL Model Law on International Commercial Arbitration, has drafted the new Model Law on International Commercial Conciliation, and has begun a project to revise the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules. Before joining King & Spalding, he served as Senior Counsel in the Paris office of Dewey & LeBoeuf and was previously counsel for five years in the international arbitration group at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, based in Vienna. Prior to that, he practiced in the litigation department of Shearman & Sterling in Washington, DC, advising particularly on international matters. Between his time at Shearman & Sterling and Freshfields, James left private practice to serve for nearly six years in senior legal positions in the Clinton Administration. These posts included Deputy Counsel to the President, at the White House, and Associate Deputy Attorney General in the Justice Department, where his portfolio encompassed such international issues as immigration and human rights. At the beginning of his legal career, James served as law clerk to Justices William J. Brennan, Jr. and Thurgood Marshall, on the U.S. Supreme Court, and to Judge Abner J. Mikva on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. He also worked as a legal assistant to Judge Howard M. Holtzmann, on the Iran-U.S. Claims Tribunal at The Hague, The Netherlands. He is a member of the International Advisory Board for the Vienna International Arbitral Centre and of the editorial board of the World Arbitration and Mediation Review. Mr. Castello speaks regularly on arbitration topics, particularly those related to the UNCITRAL Model Law and Rules, and has made presentations at conferences sponsored by many of the major arbitral institutions. In 2007, he was named to the Court of the London Court of International Arbitration, and he is recognized in the International Who's Who of Commercial Arbitration and in Chambers Global.
