I think that all new hires should be made aware of all policies, procedures, and a thorough background of the company upon hiring. This would perhaps enable employees to better assist most customers without having to interfere with supervisors. Thorough training beforehand is very important.

Actually, I am really not sure what my compensation package entails, due to not being made aware of what we have. It's almost as if you're verbally told that you have x,y, and z but not given any instructions as to where to find it, or how to make use of it.

I've learned things that should have been introduced to me while being hired from coworkers that have been with the company a while.
