Very Good. Overtime is almost not allowed. Large amounts of paperwork to even be allowed to work late.

There is a paperwork system that most managers dread. Is your manager good at working the system? Is you manager motivated toward promotions? (both are rare).

I have no idea how the federal government promotes There is no set standard. They promote who the will.

depends on how well your boss is at the paper work and how motivated your boss is. Status quo is only cost of living which is literally an act of congress.

There's a union -- NTEU (mostly out for themselves). If you boss is bureaucratic, you find yourself in a Dilbert comic or like the movie Office Space, being asked by multiple manager for the status of that TPS report.

good Bureaucrats. Maintain status quo, resist change. Don't ask challenging questions. Don't ask why only what to do.
