Mr. Dennis J. Gilles, also known as Dan, has been an Executive Advisor of U.S. Geothermal Inc. since July 18, 2017. Mr. Gilles served as the Chief Executive Officer at U.S. Geothermal Inc. since April 19, 2013 until July 18, 2017. Mr. Gilles served as Senior Vice President of Renewables Growth of Calpine Corp., he was responsible for strategically growing its renewable energy portfolio. Mr. Gilles has 29 years of experience related to the management, operation, maintenance, engineering, construction and administration of power and petrochemical plants and their related facilities. He has been with Calpine for 18 years. Mr. Gilles served as Senior Vice President of Western Region & Geothermal Power Operations of Calpine Corp., where he was responsible for its operating portfolio of clean, efficient and reliable natural gas-fired and geothermal power plants in the U.S. western markets. He led the team for Calpine in the late 1990s. He is actively involved in advancing legislation to stimulate growth in the geothermal industry, as well as active in improving the knowledge and interest of the public and government, at the local, state and federal levels. He serves as Chairman of the Board of the Geothermal Energy Association. He serves as Vice President on the Executive Board of the Geothermal Resource Council. He served as a Director of U.S. Geothermal Inc. since September 2011 until July 6, 2017. He is a California registered Mechanical Engineer. Mr. Gilles has a Master of Business Administration degree from Pepperdine University and an Undergraduate Degree in Mechanical Engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.
