I liked that the people who did the interview were the people that I would be working with the most.
I don't feel undervalued. My only compensation issue is with our insurance. The premium and deductible go up every year, and it's only catastrophic coverage.
Eliminate some of the separation between departments. When some thing doesn't go as planned, each department tries to blame another one instead of coming up with a solution.
Follow through and communication. We set standards for everything, but don't follow through with them. Top level people don't always communicate with the people on the floor when it directly affects them.
When there are consistent issues with an employees performance, there are no consequences. The people they work with just keep fixing the mistakes or covering their absence, so they don't feel the need to change what they are doing.
If they took pride in what they do, it would eliminate the majority of the issues, but there are no consequences when they don't so they just wing it. We need more people who think about how they can improve the job for everyone, not just make it easier for themselves.
